‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
The Elissa IPA was brewed by the… chim…ney with… care?
In hops (get it?!) that Saint Arnold would be there

I can’t finish that.

Saint Arnold makes a pretty kick-ass Christmas Ale. It’s piney and delicious. Saint Arnold also makes two pretty kick-ass IPAs, one of which is their Elissa IPA. Saint Arnold also made the decision that blending their kick-ass Christmas Ale with one of their kick-ass IPAs would make an even more kicker-asser Christmas seasonal.

The Sailing Santa pretty much makes me wanna call up ol’ Saint Nick and have him take me out on his boat where he just has ice chests and ice chests filled with bottles of Sailing Santa. It’s a rich amber-colored beer with a nice thick, white head like Santa’s face blanket. It’s got a very hoppy aroma, with some notes of Christmas spice.

It tastes like an IPA on the front with its piney hops, and then it’s Christmas in the back. It’s like the mullet of Christmas beers. It tastes exactly what you’d think a Christmas IPA would and should taste like.

It has a pretty malty mouthfeel and body. There’s a slight note of caramel going down. If the Heat Miser held a flamethrower to my head and forced me to choose one Christmas seasonal to drink the entire Christmas season, I’d choose Saint Arnold’s Sailing Santa.
