Magic Hat Hex Ourtoberfest
We don’t get too many of the Magic Hat brews down here. You can find #9 pretty much anywhere and that’s an okay beer, sure. But when I saw Hex in Rouse’s, I figured, hey, a new one
It poured with a pretty thick white head. It had a very crisp aroma — fitting for a fall beer — with a hint of citrus. It had a reddish, amber color and a pretty thin body upon drinking. The finish was a bit off-putting, though. Almost a copper taste, like if you put a penny in your mouth for a second. Don’t ask.
However, in spite of the penny finish, it had a very refreshing front that I enjoyed. Overall, it’s an interesting take on the Okstoberfest style, but not quite what I like. As always though, Magic Hat’s bottle art is really awesome.
To clarify, I won’t say this is a bad beer. It’s just an okay beer, but totally worth grabbing from the ice chest if you see it at a party.
